Through their interactions with horses, justice-involved veterans in VALOR build emotional resilience and develop tools to overcome the challenges of military service-related trauma. These programs help veterans—and potentially all inmates—reintegrate into society as stronger, healthier citizens.

The program, housed in Collin County, takes in veterans statewide and has four in-house therapists who help veterans with their specific issues.

We recently celebrated a significant milestone with the official launch of the VALOR/Collin County Sheriff’s Office Equine Therapy Program, an initiative designed to support Justice-Involved Veterans in the Veterans Accessing Lifelong Opportunities for Rehabilitation (VALOR) program.
